The Islanders Restaurant has been serving its Fish and Chips to the people of Canvey for over 40 years. Louis and Katina Savva first opened the doors in 1982 as a takeaway and in 1984 Louis extended the shop to add a 38-seater fully licensed restaurant, which has since become a haven for fresh fish, burgers and wraps all sourced from around the British & Irish Isles, that is now under the watchful eye of Chef Luis.
First opening thier doors in 1982 open for lunch and dinner, from Tuesday to Saturday, boasting some truly classic dishes – from the famous Islanders Fish & Chips, to beautifully grilled burgers served from the grill, alongside an exquisite choice of fish, with Sea Bass, Skate, Rock to name a few.
Locals and holiday makers afar have been dropping in for a light lunch, or evening meal with friends to bask in the relaxed atmosphere of the Islander Restaurant. Although there is always lots of good humour and wit, rest assured we are serious about our fish. Our Cod Fillets are prepared in our own recipe golden batter, served with potato chips cooked in 100% refined Ground Nut Oil.
